Acne Surgery

One form of acne surgery involves the extraction of open and closed comedones commonly known as blackheads and whiteheads. The procedure is only mildly uncomfortable and results in a rapid improvement in the acne.

In more severe acne, large cysts can form that have the potential to cause scarring. These cysts can be injected with a corticosteroid or sometimes incised and drained to minimize the risk of scarring and to speed the resolution of these blemishes.
